UDL and Open Pedagogy in Course Design: An Analysis of Student Engagement in Psychology 101

Student engagement has been studied in both UDL and Open Pedagogy, though independent of each other. This project seeks to fill the gap in the literature by examining the shared goal of increased student engagement through the UDL framework and the use of Open Pedagogy designed renewable assignments. The co-presenters worked with students enrolled in an introduction to psychology class at a community college in New York City and made use of the UWES (Utrecht Work Engagement Scale for Students).
