UDL is a broadly applicable framework that helps teachers think about every element of instruction. What role does the classroom environment play in applying UDL? The physical space shapes how each person in that space thinks about their expectations, their relationships, and ultimately their learning. We will unpack how a physical environment can either sustain or interrupt efforts to develop new pedagogies, with examples taken from both disciplinary and socio-emotional teaching applications.
