Ruth has worked in post-secondary education on both the east and west coasts of Canada. Beginning at Nova Scotia Community College, her work within student services has focused on removing barriers and increasing access to and quality of learning environments and experiences for students with disabilities. As one of the early UDL enthusiasts in higher education in Canada, Ruth led UDL awareness and implementation efforts. This past year, Ruth has begun working in the field of human rights education with British Columbia’s new Office of the Human Rights Commissioner and is beginning to explore how UDL can be applied in non-formal social justice education efforts.
