Reagan Murnan is a second-year doctoral student and ASPIRE scholar in the special education program in the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University. Her research interests are focused on studying evidenced-based writing practices for adolescents receiving special education services. More specifically, she is interested in strategies that invoke background knowledge for essay writing. Mrs. Murnan is currently working as a graduate research assistant on a WEGO-RIITE project funded by the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education. She previously worked as a middle school special education teacher for students with disabilities who accessed the general curriculum.
