Dr. Laura Vanderberg integrates theory, research, and practice of typical and atypical cognitive development across the lifespan in her UDL curriculum at Curry College. Through iPAL, she has flipped the typical higher educational model and invited students as co-owners of program design, implementation, assessment, and revision. She was selected in the global class of Apple Distinguished Educators in 2019, based on her development and implementation of iPAL. She thrives when working metacognitively with students with complicated learning profiles, invites them to own their strengths and challenges, and supports them to find strategies and life-long approaches for learning and cognitive development.
