Catherine Manly is a doctoral candidate in Higher Education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her dissertation investigates the effectiveness of one aspect of Universal Design for Learning for improving student learning outcomes in online courses. Currently a researcher for the City University of New York’s Graduate Center investigating online learning, she formerly directed educational technology and distance learning at a community college. Her research aims to improve affordable access and success for students underserved by traditional higher education. Her work has been published in journals such as Research in Higher Education, and Higher Education: Handbook of Theory and Research.
